  • Animated Interactive Museum Exhibit Design Agency Dallas Fort Worth - 900lbs of Creative

    2:05

    (469) 283-8043 -- This video shows an executive from River Legacy (Arlington Texas, in the Dallas Fort Worth area) discussing the use of technology in a nature center. She shows how the visitors enjoy the animated interactive museum exhibit designed by 900lbs of Creative, a creative design studio and agency which developed the new exhibit.

Here is more about the project:

    The Challenge

Deep in the heart of a bustling DFW metroplex, the River Legacy Living Science Center is a sanctuary of environmental education whose aim is to encourage an appreciation of nature through interaction with the natural world. After over 20 years of operation, River Legacy approached 900lbs to be part of a major renovation project to rejuvenate the building and inspire today’s youths. How do you reach this younger generation to teach them about nature when most are transfixed by their technology indoors? By bringing the outdoors…indoors. Our goal was to let younger visitors explore nature in a fun, game-like interaction that speaks their language.

    The Experience

The “Life in the Forest” wall is an interactive projection, serving as a 30 foot wide “window” into the outside world, letting kids not only “see” what’s just outside the building, but actually letting them interact with the animals and fauna they might not see otherwise. By “gamifying” the animals and environment into mini games and highlighting aspects of that particular wildlife, kids are able to learn by doing, and subconsciously become familiar with some of the Trinity River ecosystem’s favorite critters.

Technically speaking, the large-scale wall is a mixed media compilation utilizing short throw laser projectors, 3 Microsoft Kinect depth cameras and custom exhibit fabrication that combines digital content with the physical experience. The outcome is a combined effort of months of game development, hyper-detailed environment design, 2D/3D animation and computer vision algorithms. Photos from the Kinect cameras capture the users in action for River Legacy to share on social media. This is one of the most complex projects to date for 900lbs, requiring a focused design that adhered to the TEKS education curriculum foundation while also remaining fun and engaging to kids. To increase the center’s appeal for special events and weddings, 900lbs also created a scalable backend CMS that allowed the staff to plug in any event media to customize the wall.

    The Results

The River Legacy Foundation’s goal was to rejuvenate the Science Center with new exhibits and enhance the whole experience with modern technology. Through our Discovery process, 900lbs generated concept art and interactive prototypes that helped the foundation successfully complete the capital fundraising campaign by visualizing the art of the possible.

The Life in the Forest exhibit serves as the centerpiece to the renovation and the Science Center has already seen an increase in attendance. This attraction has allowed a new paid admission revenue stream as well as bolstering event rental offerings with a customizable media system.

900lbs is proud to say that the River Legacy Foundation and its wonderful staff have won the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Nonprofit Organization’s of the Year award! Special thanks to Jill Hill and her staff for being such a wonderful group of people to work with and a valued partner on this project.

900lbs and the River Legacy Foundation staff are already in talks of future initiatives and enhancements to the space.

900lbs of Creative is located at:

    5301 Alpha Rd.
    Suite A-10

  • Kinetic Wall at Geneva Motor Show- Interactive Kinetic Installation

    2:05

Kinetic Wall is a temporary interactive and kinetic installation designed for the 88th Geneva International Motor Show in 2018. Teaming up with our partners, we created an innovative and engaging experience to unveil the new Spanish firm model: the Ateca.

In a digital installations crowd, this piece of kinetic art brought Cupra booth to life and became a real attraction among the other Motor Show's activations.
Whether no one was standing in front of the facade, the installation performed a set of pre-programmed choreographies showing the media's expressive potential. Whenever a person approached the wall, it turned interactive and reacted, opening see-through portholes to unveil the car behind.

The wall moved thanks to 139 stepper motors and custom-designed motion controllers hidden into the frame. People's actions were detected by two Kinect sensors placed at the top of the facade; all the images were collected and computed in real time to allow lag-less responsiveness.

  • Virtual Gulf Stream Aquarium: Interactive Digital Wall Projection

    2:25

As part of the redevelopment and rebranding of the Miami Science Museum to the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science in Miami, a massive near-2 million litre Gulf Stream Tank Aquarium was built as its new centrepiece.

To compliment this massive feat of construction, as well as to educate visitors on how the Gulf Stream impacts the marine world, we were commissioned to design and construct a large-scale audio visual interactive wall and floor projection that pushes the boundaries of augmented reality in museums. The 18-metre environment which represents the powerful, warm ocean current that runs off the coast of Florida and exposes visitors to aspects of the narratives of the stream such as its influence on the food chain and fish schooling behaviours.

Visitors to the exhibit can influence the ultra-high definition flow environment in real time thanks to camera tracking sensors making the experience akin to a safari or scuba dive. As they walk through the virtual Gulf Stream, visitors are exposed to three-dimensional animations elusive and seldom seen creatures of those waters, including those not typically kept in an aquarium. We also designed the display in such a way as to encourage museum visitors to move through a transition area in the right direction to continue their journey.

  • Autodesk Inventor - BMW M5 Rim DesignTutorial

    17:55

In this Autodesk Inventor tutorial I've created an alloy Rim, globally based on BMW M5 dimensions. I use only common Autodesk Inventor features, so this makes a great model for beginning Autodesk Inventor users. Autodesk Inventor is used for the entire model, in the beginning I've placed some renderings from Autodesk Showcase, but as you can see the renderings from Autodesk Inventor itself are very good as well. In fact the ambient shadows in Autodesk Inventor look very good and are very fast to apply to your model. I show how that's done in the end of the video.

In this Autodesk Inventor Tutorial I made a mistake during the video.... I cut it out using video editing software. I'm wondering if anybody can notice it, do let me know if you do.

If you have any questions about this Autodesk Inventor tutorial leave me a comment and I'll try to reply

  • From 3D big wave to future of Fourth Screen in everyday life

    2:56

'제 4의 스크린' 디지털 사이니지 산업의 앞날은

If you live in South Korea, you might have already come across it yourself the huge digital wave in the middle of Seoul.
The realistic animation of a wave crashing in a virtual aquarium on South Korea's biggest digital billboard is grabbing people's attention.
Ocean waves crashing loudly in the heart of one of the world's busiest cities.
Powerful waves curling and swirling within a see-through water tank.
This anamorphic illusion-situated in downtown Seoul - is dazzling visitors.
This huge 80-by-20 meter wave trapped inside what appears to be an aquarium is a public art installation displayed on South Korea's largest digital billboard. It's also one of many digital information displays that have become deeply immersed in our daily lives.
Dubbed Digital Signage,… it's a form of digital installation that beams multimedia content for informational or advertising purposes, and are gradually being seen in major cities around the world.
Leading the industry: South Korean tech giants Samsung and LG Electronics.
Samsung Electronics has been dominating the market for over a decade,... controlling 27-percent of the global market share in 2019, followed by its local rival LG Electronics with 12 percent.
Translate that into monetary figures. Research firm Omdia forecasts the industry to reach over 15-billion U.S. dollars by 2023 from 12-and-a-half-billion this year.
Screens have become lifestyle products. They not only make a statement in our homes but they reflect and help us in our daily lives.
It's already become part of our daily lives, with 4th generation digital signage that uses Artificial Intelligence.
From interactive displays that are already readily available to holographic advertising, and face recognition based on personal information built into glass these are some of the next steps the industry is preparing to take.
But industry watchers say that... getting to that point... is going to take a while.
There isn't strong market demand as much of the focus remains on smartphones and display panels. That's the reason why we haven't seen much development within the sector.
Still, while it may not seem essential right now,.. it's important that South Korean firms maintain their strong lead in global market before the industry sees an explosion in demand as we head further into the fourth industrial revolution.

  • 14 Trends in Graphic Design for 2021

Capitalizing on trends in design and business is a great way to stay culturally relevant and assure your success. Watch as I share 14 Trends in Graphic Design for 2021. Join me in exploring these contemporary trends you can use to inspire your designs and build your brand!

    10. IT’S ALL A BLUR
    11. CHISELED TYPE
    12. SINGULARITY
    13. WAVY GRAVY
    14. BEE YELLOW

I was in the fashion industry for 15 years and travelled the globe shopping for trend 3x a year, Tokyo, London, Milan, Berlin etc. Trend hunting was my job. I’ve worked with major trend houses like WGSN, Stylus, JWT, Pantone. The one thing I’ve learned is that trends are never limited to specific periods of time and are very fluid in how they appear. Trends are revisited, altered, revised - new perspectives are added - they disappear and then they come back over and over (particularly in the fashion industry) (Russian Constructivism - 100 years old - never really goes away). Some trends take a few years to grab hold and become recognizable as popular. Some people, who may see and recognize trends early - may be mentally registering them way before other people so they may seem older to them - but not others. To many folks who have no formal training in art/design history they are totally new. I can never assume the knowledge base of my audience. I hope you are inspired.

  • MOSTI - Interactive digital museum exhibit design

    16:31

Commissioned by MTE Studios, an exhibition maker based in Dubai, Formula D interactive and partners developed 21 digital interactive media installations for a science and technology museum in Saudi Arabia. The interactive AV productions display various aspects of the technical and scientific advances of the Muslim world from 700BC to 1700BC in the fields of maths, medicine, botany, chemistry, astronomy, art and architecture besides others. The interactive AV's produced in the course of the project include touch tables, touch screens and other cutting edge interactive installations. During the 6 month design and production time, the design team worked closely with the client and researchers to conceptualize each application making sure the design of each interactive exhibit supported the exceptional visitor experience of the museum.

The work includes various Multi-touch tables:

    Timeline Multi-Touch Table

The flagship exhibit of the museum is a 5 metre long rear projected multi-touch table allowing multiple users to interact simultaneously with a timeline of Islamic contributions to science and technology. Spanning a period of 1000 years, the timeline multi-touch table includes more than 300 historic events relating to important discoveries and achievements of the time. When first approaching the installation, visitors of the museum get an immediate overview of key events, which are represented as markers and title text on the sequential timeline. In order to contain the massive amount of content information in a seamless presentation across the table, the interface lets users open and close 20 year time windows by selecting the periods from either the Arabic or Gregorian calendar displayed on both sides of the table.

By touching the table's glass surface at the point of interest, one of the 20-year time windows opens. Next, visitors swipe their hand or finger up and down to revolve event icons around the central timeline bringing desired content to the fore. When a particular event has been selected, a window opens up showing images, animation and text related to the event. Language can be easily toggled between English and Arabic by swiping hand or finger across the content left to right or vice versa.

Events of major importance trigger uber-animations that span the entire table. This may mark the extra-ordinary travels of Ibn Battuta from Tangiers to China, or coins raining onto the table representing the first use of gold coins in the Arabic world.

To create a multi-touch table of this scale, the glass surface had to be divided into 3 sections, each producing an image of 167 x 125 cm with an overall resolution of 3072 x 768px. The graphical interface design creates the impression of a seamless surface across the 3 sections. Visitors explore the content of the timeline by walking around the table anti clock-wise. The GUI was developed in adobe flash using a live socket connection to synchronize the 3 platforms.

To achieve multi-user functionality, the development team made use of innovative camera tracking technology which identifies fingers and hands of visitors touching the surface. The interface works with intuitive gestures, such as dragging and swiping. The hardware was developed and built by the companies in Cape Town: all in all, the timeline touch table uses three quad core PC's, six tracking cameras, and six data projectors mounted under the table surface.

    Geometric Art Multi-Touch Table

The Geometric art multi-touch table invites users to design their own Arabesque patterns using predefined elements. The application offers the option to re-create patterns which are displayed in the background of the table. Alternatively, users can create their own pattern using a repository of predefined elements. The table measures 1 metre square and uses 2 data projectors.

  • Vroom Virtual Reality Auto Showroom - 360 Degree Immersive VR Development - 900lbs

    1:02

    (469) 283-8043 - This video highlights some of the work which 900lbs performed for Vroom when the company needed a Virtual Reality (VR) showroom. Here is more about the project:

    The Challenge

Vroom, the national online car retailer generating over $1 billion in revenue, approached 900lbs with the creative challenge of helping them continue to disrupt the traditional car buying process and deploy a technology focused initiative to position Vroom for the future.

    The Experience

900lbs collaborated in close partnership with Vroom to film 15 of their “Affordable Performance” vehicles in 360º video that represent 155 vehicles in Vroom’s inventory. When a user puts on the VR headset they can navigate around the digital showroom then jump inside any car and sit in the driver seat, go on 360º video test drives and access vehicle information (year, price, horsepower, trim package, etc). A user can experience all the standard features of a website in a completely immersive new media. This is the first phase of a multiphase development plan that’ll see more features and vehicles implemented in 2017.

    he Solution

This first phase of a multiphase development launched in a Phoenix mall as a pop up retail space allowing guests off the street to experience Virtual Reality and Vroom for the first time. The project gained national interest from Fortune, Tech Crunch, Adweek, Digital trends and others. “This VR showroom was part of a targeted campaign that saw a significant boost in web traffic,” explains Gaurav Misra, Chief Marketing Officer of Vroom.

Here is more about this particular project:

    And

    From the above-mentioned link:

Vroom and 900lbs of Creative have created a virtual reality showroom in pop-up stores.
    BY LANCE MURRAY • SEP 13, 2016
Dallas-based 900lbs of Creative and national online car retailer Vroom have created a fully immersive, 360-degree, virtual reality showroom that will be available at pop-up stores nationwide on the HTC Vive. The VR car showroom experience will allow customers to explore 15 of Vroom’s “Affordable Performance” muscle cars in person, with options representing roughly 200 vehicles in stock, the companies said in a news release.

“This was a complex and technically intricate project,” 900lbs’ CEO Steve Deitz said. “We had to develop new filming and production techniques in order to create phase one of this multi-phase experience. I’m really proud of our team.”

Users will be able to walk around the car’s exterior before jumping inside in the driver’s seat. They will be able to go on 360-degree video test drives and will have access to the vehicle’s full information. But the companies haven’t stopped there, and are in the process of developing the next phase, which will include more interactive and immersive features. It will have the potential for a customize experience, the companies said.

Vroom has seen increased interest because of the technology. “This VR showroom was part of a targeted campaign that saw a significant boost in web traffic,” Gaurav Misra, CMO of Vroom said. The companies said the first pop-up store opened in August in Phoenix, with subsequent pop-up stores planned before the end of the year in Texas.

SHOWROOM IS PART OF A TARGETED CAMPAIGN
“Such an incredible experience working with 900lbs, we’re now moving rapidly in to our third project with them,” Misra said. “They’re a creative agency the likes I haven’t encountered before.” Misra said the auto retailer need a fresh approach. “We’re a billion dollar revenue retailer and we needed completely fresh thinking around a specific retail strategy with technology at its core,” he said. “We developed this VR showroom and we were blown away by 900lbs attentiveness, creativity, execution and pragmatics. This VR showroom was part of a targeted campaign in Phoenix that saw a boost in web traffic.”

  • Amazon Web Services Immersive Gamified Web Tutorial For Remote Learning And Customer Training

    1:41

    (469) 283-8043 --

In this video, you will see some of the work developed by 900lbs to help Amazon Web Services (AWS). Here is more about the project:

    The Challenge

900lbs collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to create an immersive, web-based application that would help educate current and prospective customers on the benefits and use cases of the company’s cloud computing offerings in a unique and engaging way.

AWS, the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, helps millions of customers – including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises and leading government agencies – lower costs, become more agile and innovate faster through cloud computing. AWS provides more services, and more features within those services, than any other cloud provider, which makes it faster, easier and more cost effective to move existing applications to the cloud and build nearly anything you can imagine.

With the breadth and sophistication of AWS offerings, explaining the benefits of services concisely and accurately to prospective customers is critical.

    The Solution

Through discovery, concept development and prototype development, 900lbs worked with the AWS team to plan and design a gamified, educational tool to help start the cloud computing and remote productivity conversation.

To take this interactive project to the next level and provide a platform for AWS to truly showcase their suite of web services, we decided to develop this engaging application using only AWS cloud services.

Using a combination of AWS solutions, we developed the AWS Cloud Champion: Virtual Workplace Interactive Challenge.

We created a 3D virtual trade show booth, complete with 360 camera capabilities and customized lighting
We leveraged the AWS Sumerian Host to create our avatar host, Zoe, who greets users and guides them through the virtual booth’s interactive and educational content
900lbs and the AWS team worked together to integrate key tutorials, demonstrations and case studies that bring cloud computing to life and showcase how AWS can help customers work remotely, learn online and service constituents via the cloud
We created a fully-customized experience for users, tailoring all content to the selections users make up-front and allowing them to explore the topics that matter most to them
To provide a uniquely gamified experience, we implemented elements/features from the gaming world throughout the Interactive Challenge
We partnered with the AWS team to develop a short quiz and reward users with points as they complete each step in their guided tutorial journey

Here is more from Amazon Web Services (AWS):

Part of the above link reads:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of a preview version of an online gamified tutorial, “AWS Cloud Champion: Virtual Workplace Interactive Challenge,” that highlights cloud capabilities available for online meetings, cloud-based contact centers, and virtual desktops. The tutorial is presented as a three-dimensional (3D), virtual tradeshow experience, which includes kiosks and an AWS avatar that guides you through a self-directed path, explaining applicable AWS services in a concise and engaging format.

The tutorial is gamified through a point system to track your progress as you complete a customized learning circuit on a topic of your choosing. It takes about 10 minutes total to complete the gamified experience. If you complete all modules, you have the option to sign up for $50 in AWS Promotional Credit as a reward.

900lbs, a Dallas-based interactive agency, collaborated with AWS to create this immersive, web-based application that educates customers on the benefits and use cases of the company’s cloud computing offerings for remote work and learning.

  • NaSatta Projection Mapping for Storytelling

    35

NaSatta is a tourist attraction for learning and recreation located in Bangphae, Ratchaburi, Thailand. It was established to present the progenitor of Thailand and promote Buddhism in order to preserve Thai cultural heritage.

To create a new museum-based learning experience, Projection Mapping and Light&Sound Control are employed to combine with storytelling. This new experience lets users immerse themselves in the surrounding environment.

Projection mapping is utilized for mapping videos on the wall and Buddha statue to help visualize the history from the emergence of Buddhism in Thailand to the golden age of Buddhism during the Sukhothai period.

Light and sound combined with storytelling potentially create an immersive experience in the museum. At NaSatta, light and sound are applied to tell the story of Aṅgulimāla, a ruthless brigand who completely transforms after a conversion to Buddhism.

  • Adobes Executive Video Wall Experience

    2:37

Adobe is re-imagining its office environments to incite higher levels of collaboration, innovation, and creativity. It's a workplace strategy that includes the thoughtful integration of digital media to reinforce these goals and help position this uniquely innovative brand.

As they sought to incorporate digital signage in new executive waiting areas, Array Interactive was called upon to conceive a touchpoint that captured the essence of Adobe's brand: how they are changing the world through digital experiences. We expressed this idea by delivering an experiential, gesture-based video wall where high-impact content is influenced by human movement. It's an experience that places control in the hands of visiting executives—where creative expression is limited only by one's imagination.
